It was just another normal day
When he turned up barely sober
From an argument with someone
He barely recognised

She was innocently talking
To a man with no intentions
Of providing him with reasons
For such jealousy and rage

Every mealtime tension on her plate
As she forces down each mouthful
Terrified of what he’s thinking
Watch him swallow down his hate

All the friends that she’s avoiding
Tell her slip out when he’s sleeping
Or just poison him with something
